Privacy policy

We collect as little as possible, and we do not track you.

Draft for review. This policy is not yet in effect. It will be reviewed by counsel and dated before launch.

The short version

  • No analytics, cookies, tracking pixels, or advertising. Nothing is stored in your browser.
  • Every file this site uses is served from this site. No third-party fonts, scripts, videos, or maps.
  • The survivor interest list asks for one email address and two simple choices. Nothing about your situation.
  • We never sell or share your information for marketing.
  • You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

1. Who we are

This site is run by Centered Survivor LLC, a Florida company. In this policy, "we" means Centered Survivor LLC. This site is for adults in the United States.

2. What this site does not do

  • It does not use analytics tools or measure who visits.
  • It does not set cookies, or use local storage, session storage, or similar technologies.
  • It does not use tracking pixels, advertising networks, social media buttons, or embedded videos or maps.
  • It does not load fonts, scripts, or images from other companies’ servers.
  • It does not try to learn your identity, device, or location.

3. Hosting and server logs

Our site is delivered by a hosting provider. Like every host, it must process basic technical information, such as your IP address, the time, and the page requested, in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not turn on any visitor analytics from our host, and we do not use these logs to identify or follow visitors. The host keeps its own logs under its own policies. A private window, a trusted device, or a trusted network reduces what can be linked to you.

4. Information you choose to send us

Survivor interest list

If you join, we ask for:

  • An email address that only you can see.
  • Whether it is safe for us to email you.
  • Whether you would like an online or in-person group.

We do not ask for your name, address, phone number, or any details about your situation. Please do not include any. We use your email only to tell you when a group opens. If you tell us it is not safe to email, or you ask for a plain message, we send a message with a neutral subject line and no mention of violence, abuse, or this program. We will not call or text you.

Practitioner and researcher inquiries

If you contact us as a clinician, advocate, organization, or researcher, we ask for your name, work email, organization, area of interest, and approximate group size. We use this only to reply and to follow up on the inquiry you made.

5. How long we keep it

  • Survivor interest list: until you ask us to delete it, or until we ask you once a year to confirm and you do not reply, whichever comes first. We delete it within 30 days of a request.
  • Practitioner and researcher inquiries: up to 24 months, unless we begin working together under a written agreement.

6. Who sees it

Only a very small number of authorized people at Centered Survivor LLC can see what you send. We use service providers to receive forms and send email. They may process your information only to provide those services and are bound by confidentiality. We do not sell your information, rent it, or share it for marketing, fundraising, or research without your clear, separate consent.

If we receive a valid legal demand, we will disclose only what we hold, which is very little. Where the law allows, we will tell you first.

7. How we protect it

  • The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS) only.
  • Form information is stored encrypted, with access limited to authorized people.
  • We collect the minimum, so there is less to protect.

No system is perfectly secure. This is one more reason not to send details of your situation through any website.

8. Not a reporting or crisis channel

Do not use this site to report abuse or ask for emergency help. If you are in danger, call 911 if it is safe to do so, or call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233, or text START to 88788.

9. Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to privacy@centeredsurvivor.com from an email address you trust. You do not need to explain why.

10. Staying safe online

  • If someone may be watching your devices, use a device and account they cannot reach, such as a library computer or a trusted friend’s phone.
  • A private or incognito window keeps this visit out of your browser history on that device. It does not hide the visit from your internet provider, employer, or anyone who controls your network or device.
  • The Quick exit button, or pressing the Escape key three times, takes you away from this site at once. A website cannot erase your history, so clear it as well if it is safe to do so.
  • For more guidance, see The Hotline and the NNEDV Safety Net project.

11. Children

This site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

12. Changes

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with its date. We will not make changes that reduce these protections without telling people on the interest list first.
